Cyanoacrylate Adhesive Guide: Factory-Direct Insights | StarSpeed Glue

One drop. One second. One strong bond.

That is how most people first meet cyanoacrylate — the instant adhesive family better known as "super glue." What fewer people realise is that the same chemistry also powers professional eyelash extension adhesives, press-on nail glues, hair-extension bonding systems, and even surgical-grade tissue adhesives. The difference is not the molecule alone — it is how carefully that molecule is selected, purified and formulated for each job.

At StarSpeed Glue, we have spent more than 11 years manufacturing high-performance adhesives for the beauty and medical industries from our factory in Jingzhou, China. Operating under our parent company Jingzhou Shengjie Technology Co., Ltd., we run a modern production facility of over 4,000 square metres with automated lines and advanced testing instruments, and we have been exporting worldwide for more than six years. Our catalogue spans roughly 55 SKUs — from under-1lashtoolsto1lashtoolsto1,500 medical-grade raw materials — and nearly every product is available for OEM/ODM private label. This guide explains what is inside those bottles and how to evaluate a factory supplier with confidence.

The same chemistry, four very different formulas

Cyanoacrylate adhesives bond almost instantly when they meet moisture, but the "recipe" matters enormously:

  • Monomer choice. Ethyl, butyl and octyl cyanoacrylates behave very differently. Butyl (NBCA) and octyl (2-octyl) grades are the foundation of medical and tissue-adhesive products because they form more flexible, lower-irritation films; ethyl grades are common in fast-setting consumer and craft glues.
  • Purity and stabilisation. Medical applications require strictly controlled purity and stabiliser systems so the adhesive cures predictably and safely. This is why certifications such as CE and FDA matter, and why every serious batch should have an MSDS behind it.
  • Viscosity and cure speed. By tuning viscosity and additives, a manufacturer can create a 0.3-second flash-cure lash glue or a slower-setting, repositionable formula — from the same base chemistry.

StarSpeed Glue products are formulated to medical-grade standards where the application demands it, and our beauty adhesives are engineered for long retention (up to 6–8 weeks for lash wear) without compromising comfort.

What we make

Eyelash extension adhesives and systems

Our largest family. We produce 1-second fast-dry clear and black lash glues (5 ml salon bottles), 0.3s/0.5s UV/LED-cure lines such as our Beam Lights and Starlash UV glues, and sensitive/“no-allergy” formulas for clients who need a gentler option. Around the glue itself we build the whole workflow: primers and bonders, cream and jelly removers, silicone gel tapes, foam eye pads, under-eye masks, UV goggles, glue cups and rings, and a range of UV/LED curing lamps (5W mini tweezers lamps, 405nm desk lamps, headlamps and foot-pedal models). Professionals can buy a complete station from one factory.

Nail glues and press-on adhesives

From strong-hold nail gel glues (including 15 g 4-in-1 press-on formulas) to fast-dissolving debonders and removers that take press-on nails off without damaging the natural nail, our nail range is built for salons and DIY brands alike.

Hair-extension bonding (V-Light, ICE and Cold Fusion)

Modern hair extension systems no longer rely on old-fashioned heat. Our V-Light technology kits, ICE gel + activator sets, Cold Fusion kits with stainless-steel ice combs and professional bonding machines (CE-marked) let stylists attach wefts quickly, invisibly and reversibly. Kit prices start at $99 and scale to salon-grade systems.

Medical and specialty cyanoacrylates

For qualified manufacturers and laboratories, we supply 2-octyl cyanoacrylate raw material (CAS 133978-15-1), NBCA n-butyl cyanoacrylate (CAS 6606-65-1), octyl tissue-adhesive formulations and CE/FDA-certified medical-grade skin adhesives — the same chemistry family used in topical tissue adhesives and skin-closure products.

Private label: your brand, our factory

Because we are the manufacturer, not a middleman, we can support brands that want their own label:

  • Custom formulation development to hit a specific cure speed, viscosity, scent or colour;
  • Private-label packaging and design — from 5 ml lash bottles to branded kits;
  • Low-MOQ samples so you can test before you commit;
  • Consistent bulk supply with documented quality control.

How to evaluate an adhesive supplier (checklist)

Whether you are a salon stocking shelves or a distributor building a private-label line, use these five checks:

  1. Certification documentation. Ask for CE/FDA evidence and the MSDS for each formula. A supplier who cannot produce them on request is a risk, not a bargain.
  2. Formulation transparency. Know which monomer you are buying (ethyl vs butyl vs octyl) and what the advertised cure speed actually means in your climate.
  3. Batch consistency. Ask how the factory tests viscosity, cure time and bond strength between batches — consistent glue is what protects your reputation.
  4. Packaging and labelling compliance. Your destination market's rules matter; confirm labelling, languages and documentation before large orders.
  5. Samples and MOQ. Test first. A serious factory will offer low-MOQ samples and clear bulk pricing.

Start with the right partner

Behind every great lash artist, nail tech or hair stylist is glue that behaves exactly as promised. At StarSpeed Glue, we have spent over a decade perfecting that promise — one batch, one bottle, one bond at a time.
